Description

The Arctis Large is a 100mm cube-shaped outdoor wall light with an integrated 1.5W 3000K LED housed inside a white powder-coated aluminium frame. The light source sits behind a recessed aperture cut into the top face of the cube, directing warm light downwards onto the wall surface and ground below. The IP65 rating seals the fitting against dust and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for exposed exterior walls.

Designed for pathway marking, patio edges, entrance porches and garden boundaries, the Arctis mounts directly to exterior masonry or timber cladding with two rear fixing points. The 100mm projection sits close to the wall, giving minimal obstruction on narrow pathways or beside doorways. The downward light pattern avoids direct glare and highlights textures in brick, stone or render below the fitting.

The white aluminium body weighs less than 0.5kg and resists corrosion in coastal and damp climates. The powder-coated finish is harder-wearing than painted metal and maintains its colour under UV exposure. At 1.5W consumption per fitting, ten Arctis wall lights running for six hours per night cost approximately £2.50 per year in electricity at UK domestic rates. The LED module is rated for 30,000 hours and is not user-replaceable.

What does the IP65 rating mean?

IP65 means the fitting is fully sealed against dust and protected against water jets from any direction. It can be mounted on walls exposed to rain, garden hose spray and coastal salt spray without water ingress.

Can the LED be replaced?

No. The LED module is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The module is rated for 30,000 hours, which equates to approximately 10 years of use at 8 hours per night.

How is it wired?

The Arctis requires a 230V mains connection. Wiring enters through a rear cable gland in the back of the fitting. Outdoor wiring must comply with BS 7671 and typically uses armoured cable or conduit where cables run externally. Hire a qualified electrician for installation.

What light output does the 1.5W LED provide?

The 1.5W LED provides low-level accent and marker lighting rather than functional illumination. It is suitable for highlighting pathways, steps and boundaries but not for general outdoor area lighting where higher lumen output is needed.
