Description

The Arc Large is a 320mm table lamp built around a polished chrome hourglass stem with a tapered semi-transparent PVC shade finished in reflective chrome. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the shade, casting light through the translucent plastic to create a soft metallic glow that diffuses across nearby surfaces. The polished chrome base and shade frame give the lamp a mirror-like finish that reflects ambient light during the day and turns semi-opaque when lit at night.

Designed for bedside tables, office desks and side tables in living rooms, the Arc Large provides ambient task lighting rather than focused reading light. The 320mm shade diameter works on compact surfaces without dominating the space, while the polished chrome finish pairs cleanly with monochrome, industrial and contemporary interiors. The lamp sits on a weighted chrome base approximately 150mm in diameter, giving stability on bare surfaces and short-pile rugs.

The PVC shade is lighter and more impact-resistant than glass, making the lamp practical for high-traffic domestic and hospitality environments. The polished chrome finish shows fingerprints and dust more readily than brushed or matt finishes, but wipes clean with a dry microfibre cloth. The E27 fitting accepts standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to the rated wattage, allowing light colour and brightness to be selected based on the room.

What bulb does it take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedside or desk lighting.

Is it dimmable?

No. The lamp does not have dimming circuitry built in. If dimming is needed, pair with a dimmable E27 bulb and an inline cable dimmer or smart bulb, though Ideal Lux does not officially support this configuration.

How is the chrome finish maintained?

Polished chrome shows fingerprints and dust more readily than brushed or matt finishes. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid household sprays or polishes that may damage the PVC shade.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the lamp is designed for dry indoor use only. It is not splash-proof or suitable for bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or outdoor use.
