Description

This double light table lamp brings two matt black shades together on a single curving stem, one set higher than the other. The stem rises from a round base, dips into a deep U and climbs again, and each arm ends in a neat conical shade that throws its light down onto the surface beneath. It is black with a matt finish all over, from the shades to the base, and it is made from ceramic and plastic. At 33cm tall, 22cm wide and 12cm deep, it sits comfortably on a bedside table or a slim console without crowding it.

Because it is lit from two heights, it suits the places where a single lamp can look a little lonely: the end of a sideboard, a hallway console, a reading corner beside an armchair or a desk in a home study. The two shades at different heights give it a layered look, which helps a room feel settled in the evening. It is a lamp for dry rooms indoors, so living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and studies are where it belongs; keep it out of bathrooms and away from anywhere it might be splashed. The matt black finish sits easily with dark wood, deep wall colours and pale, simple rooms alike.

It runs on USB power through a port set into the side of the base, and a small touch control on top of the base switches it on and off with a light press. Before cleaning, switch it off and unplug it, then dust the shades, stem and base with a soft dry cloth, keeping water and sprays away from the port. Set it towards one end of a sideboard with the taller shade nearest the wall and it frames the space neatly, or stand it to one side of a desk to leave room to work.
