Description

The Arabesque is a 241mm wall light built around a cylindrical metal frame with laser-cut scrollwork in a hand-applied silver leaf patina finish. An ivory linen shade sits inside the metal frame, with a glass bottom diffuser directing light downwards and through the open metalwork. The fitting takes a single E14 bulb up to 60W (sold separately).

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and landings where wall-mounted ambient light is needed without a ceiling fitting, the Arabesque projects 95mm from the wall and provides soft diffused light through the linen shade while the laser-cut metal casts decorative shadow patterns onto adjacent surfaces. The 197mm width suits standard wall spacing between doorways and corners in typical UK residential hallways.

The scrollwork pattern references classical Arabic and Moorish geometric motifs, with quatrefoil, spiral and interlocking circle shapes cut into the metal cylinder. The silver leaf patina is applied by hand and varies slightly between individual pieces, giving each wall light a subtly different tonal finish. The ivory linen shade softens the light output and prevents glare when the fitting is mounted at eye level, while the glass diffuser at the base prevents direct upward spill that would create hot spots on the ceiling.

The Arabesque takes a single E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient hallway or bedroom lighting.

Can the shade be removed for cleaning?

The ivory linen shade sits inside the metal frame and can be accessed by removing the glass bottom diffuser. The shade can be vacuumed gently or spot-cleaned with a barely-damp cloth. The metal scrollwork can be dusted with a soft dry cloth.

What is silver leaf patina?

Silver leaf patina is a hand-applied finish where thin layers of silver leaf are applied to the metal and then treated to create an aged, slightly tarnished appearance. The finish varies between individual pieces and develops further character over time as the silver oxidises naturally.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The Arabesque carries no IP rating and is designed for dry interior locations only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor use.
