Apollo 1 Light Wall Light - Polished Nickel

The Apollo is a single-light wall fitting built around a 150mm white opal etched glass globe held in a polished nickel cradle frame. The frame wraps around the lower hemisphere of the globe in three curved metal arms that meet at a circular backplate, leaving the upper half of the glass sphere exposed. An integrated 3W G9 LED bulb inside the globe produces 3000K warm white light that diffuses evenly through the etched glass surface.

Designed for hallways, bathrooms and bedrooms where wall-mounted ambient light is needed without large projection, the Apollo sits 210mm proud of the wall once fitted and occupies a 181mm diameter footprint. The fitting is suitable for standard residential ceiling heights of 2.4m and above, and pairs well with mid-century, modernist and contemporary interiors that use metal accents and clean geometric forms. The polished nickel finish reflects surrounding light and sits comfortably alongside chrome taps, brushed steel handles and mirrored surfaces.

The opal etched glass softens the LED output and eliminates visible bulb glare, making the Apollo suitable for eye-level installation in corridors and beside bathroom mirrors. The three-arm cradle construction gives the fitting a sculptural presence when viewed from the side, while the spherical glass shape reads as a simple white orb when viewed head-on. The combined glass and metal construction weighs approximately 0.8kg and mounts to a standard UK single-gang back box using the circular backplate.

Is the bulb replaceable?

Yes. The Apollo includes a 3W G9 LED bulb rated at 3000K warm white. The bulb is replaceable if it fails, though LED bulbs typically last 15,000-25,000 hours depending on usage.

What projection from the wall should I expect?

The fitting projects 210mm from the wall once installed. This makes it suitable for hallways and bathrooms where deeper projection might obstruct movement, but less suitable for very narrow corridors under 900mm wide.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

The Apollo carries no IP rating in the specification table, which means it is not rated for direct water exposure. It is suitable for general bathroom zones away from shower enclosures and baths, but not for installation within Zone 1 or Zone 2 as defined by BS 7671 wiring regulations.

Can the glass globe be cleaned?

Yes. Switch off the mains supply before cleaning. Wipe the etched glass with a soft dry cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp microfibre cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the glass or getting moisture into the lamp holder.
