Antic Wall Light Gold Frame Grey Ribbed Glass Shade

The Antic is a wall light with a curved gold-finish metal arm suspending a ribbed grey glass cylinder shade from a brass sphere joint. The shade houses a single E14 bulb (sold separately, maximum 40W) and the vertical ribbing in the glass diffuses light outwards while casting subtle shadow lines on adjacent walls.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways and living rooms where decorative wall lighting is needed without a pendant drop, the Antic mounts on a vertical oval backplate approximately 26cm long and projects 26.5cm from the wall when fitted. The curved arm gives the fitting a sculptural presence rather than a purely functional one, making it suitable as bedside reading light or hallway accent lighting where the fitting itself contributes to the room's aesthetic.

The ribbed glass cylinder is 10cm diameter and approximately 18cm tall, sized to provide adequate diffusion without overwhelming smaller wall spaces. The gold metal finish is applied to both the arm and the backplate, providing visual continuity with warm-toned brass door furniture, curtain poles and mirror frames. The IP20 rating limits the Antic to dry indoor areas only — it is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor installation.

The E14 small Edison screw base accepts candle-style LED, halogen or filament bulbs. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 4-6W and 2700K for ambient lighting, or a higher-lumen output if using it as reading light beside a bed or chair.

What bulb does it take?

The Antic takes a single E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. For ambient lighting, a 4-6W LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) works well. For reading, choose a higher-lumen output around 6-8W.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Antic to dry indoor areas only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, or any outdoor installation where moisture is present.

How far does it project from the wall?

The curved arm projects 26.5cm from the wall when mounted. The glass shade adds approximately another 10cm diameter, so allow around 36cm of clearance from the wall surface to avoid obstruction.

Is it suitable as bedside reading light?

Yes, if fitted at the correct height. Mount the backplate so the shade sits approximately 100-120cm above mattress level, and pair with a directional or higher-lumen E14 bulb to concentrate light downwards onto the reading surface.
