Description

The Anorias is a ceiling pendant made up of a cluster of smoked glass globes, each hung on its own slim cable at a different height from a round steel canopy in a black nickel finish. The globes are vaporised glass in a black-transparent tone and come in differing sizes, so the arrangement reads as a loose, falling cascade. It stands 300cm high overall and measures 85cm in diameter, so it suits a room with a generous ceiling height. The light source is integrated LED, so there is no separate bulb to buy, and the light output is 650lm. It is rated IP20, which settles it as a light for dry indoor rooms only.

We see it over a round dining table, where the staggered drop fills the tall space above the tabletop and gives the room a clear centre. It also works in a lofty hallway, a living room or an open-plan space where a single fitting needs to carry the whole room. The real gain is flexibility: the light is dimmable, the colour temperature adjusts between warmer and cooler white, and the colour-changing RGB setting lets you wash the glass in colour. Switched off, the smoked glass keeps the globes dark and glossy, and whenever the LEDs are lit the glow shows through each globe.

A remote control comes in the box, and the pendant can also be run from an app, so you can dim it, shift the colour temperature or change the colour. There is no switch on the fitting; it is switched at the wall and runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician. The packed weight is 20.59KG, so it is worth having help to hand when it arrives. The installation instructions come as a download, so you can read them before fitting day.
