Amelia 1 Light Mini Pendant - Bronze

The Amelia is a 292mm single-bulb pendant light combining a bronze cast metal trim ring with an opal glass dome fitted with an etched prismatic lens across the bottom surface. The pendant hangs from a bronze rod and canopy, with the drop adjustable between 318mm and 998mm on installation to suit different ceiling heights. The single E27 socket accepts bulbs up to 60W (sold separately).

Designed for smaller spaces where a full-size pendant would overwhelm the room, the Amelia suits entrance halls, breakfast nook tables, kitchen islands in galley layouts, and above side tables or nightstands in bedrooms. The compact 292mm width provides focused light downward through the prismatic lens, which breaks the beam into a wider spread pattern than a plain glass dome would produce. The adjustable drop allows the pendant to be set 600-900mm above a worktop or table surface depending on ceiling height.

The opal glass diffuses the bulb glow while the etched prismatic bottom lens adds visual texture when the light is on and creates a more complex light distribution than a smooth glass surface. The bronze finish on the canopy and trim ring shows a warm, aged patina rather than a polished surface, pairing well with traditional and transitional interiors. The cast metal construction gives the trim ring a solid 1.2kg weight that balances the glass dome without needing additional counterweights.

What bulb does the Amelia take?

The pendant uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for a warm glow through the opal glass.

What does the prismatic lens do?

The etched prismatic pattern on the bottom of the glass dome breaks the light beam into a wider spread pattern than a smooth surface would produce, giving softer edges to the pool of light beneath the pendant and reducing glare when viewed from the side.

Can the drop be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable between 318mm and 998mm during installation by shortening or extending the rod. Once the pendant is fitted and wired, adjusting the drop requires re-accessing the ceiling rose and re-wiring, so the height should be set correctly during the initial fitting.

What ceiling height is needed?

With a minimum drop of 318mm plus the 248mm fitting height, the Amelia needs at least 2.2m ceiling height to avoid head clearance issues. For rooms with 2.4m ceilings, the pendant can be set at minimum drop to leave approximately 1.8m clearance beneath the glass dome.
