Description

The Amel is a 2-light wall fitting with a polished chrome curved arm supporting two tulip-shaped glass shades, each combining frosted and clear glass in a layered finish. The fitting includes two GU10 bulbs rated at 9W each (2700K warm white), providing 18W total output across both lamps. The glass shades diffuse light upward and outward, casting a soft ambient glow rather than direct task lighting.

Designed for hallways, landings, bedroom walls and living room accent positions, the Amel measures 200mm wide by 130mm high with a 160mm projection from the wall. The compact width suits narrow hallways and alcoves where a larger multi-arm fitting would overwhelm the space. The polished chrome finish reflects ambient light and pairs comfortably with both contemporary and traditional interiors, particularly those using chrome or stainless steel hardware elsewhere.

The curved arm extends from a circular backplate in a flowing asymmetric arc, holding the two glass shades at different heights to create visual interest without dominating wall space. The frosted and clear glass layers in each shade soften the light output while allowing the bulb shape to remain visible through the clear outer layer. The fitting weighs 1kg and mounts to a standard dual-gang wall box or dedicated mounting plate behind plasterboard.

Are bulbs included?

Yes. The Amel includes two GU10 bulbs rated at 9W each with 2700K warm white output. These are energy-saving bulbs rather than halogen, consuming 18W combined instead of the 70-100W that equivalent halogen GU10s would draw.

Is it dimmable?

No. The included GU10 bulbs are non-dimmable. Installing this fitting on a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or reduce bulb lifespan.

What width hallway does it suit?

The 200mm width and 160mm projection work in hallways from 900mm wide upward. In narrower hallways the 160mm projection may reduce usable passage width, so measure before ordering if your hallway is under 1m wide.

Can the glass shades be replaced if damaged?

Replacement glass shades are available through Mantra's spare parts network. Contact us with the SKU (M8581/S/1) and we can source the correct replacement shade if needed.
