Description

The Amel is a 2-light wall light with a black chrome backplate and curved twin arms, each holding a tulip-shaped glass shade with frosted outer layer and clear inner glass. The fitting comes supplied with two 9W GU10 LED bulbs in 2700K warm white, giving a combined 18W output at mains voltage.

Designed for hallways, living room side walls, or either side of a mirror or artwork, the Amel provides ambient wash light rather than directed task light. The 200mm width and 160mm projection suit walls where you need paired light sources without a large footprint — bedroom feature walls, beside an entrance console, or flanking a bathroom mirror where moisture isn't a concern (this fitting carries no IP rating for wet zones).

The black chrome finish is applied over a metal frame and has a high-gloss polished surface that reflects surrounding light, making it stand out more than matt black finishes. The frosted outer glass layer on each tulip shade diffuses the GU10 beam into a soft glow, while the clear inner glass creates a second layer of depth when the light is on. At 1kg total weight, the fitting mounts to standard UK wall fixings without needing additional support.

The GU10 bulbs are non-dimmable as supplied. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 replacement bulb up to the maximum wattage rating shown in the Specification table, so you can swap to a different colour temperature or brightness if needed in future.

Are the bulbs included?

Yes. The Amel comes supplied with two 9W GU10 LED bulbs in 2700K warm white. These are pre-fitted and ready to use on installation.

Is the Amel dimmable?

No. The supplied GU10 bulbs are non-dimmable. Attempting to use the fitting with a dimmer switch may cause flickering or damage to the bulbs.

Can I use this in a bathroom?

The Amel carries no IP rating and is not suitable for wet zones (within 60cm of a bath or shower). It can be used in bathrooms outside wet zones, such as above a door or on a wall away from direct water spray.

What replacement bulbs can I use?

The fitting accepts any standard GU10 bulb. Check the Specification table for the maximum wattage rating. Most users replace with GU10 LED bulbs between 4-9W, choosing 2700K for warm white or 4000K for cooler white depending on room use.
