Description
The Ambler is a compact wall light built around a 12cm amber glass sphere set on a matt black metal arm with satin brass detailing. A single G9 bulb inside the sphere (sold separately) casts light through the amber-tinted glass, producing a warm, softly diffused glow rated at 400 lumens. The black backplate measures 12cm across and projects 16cm from the wall.
Designed for hallways, bedrooms, and living room side walls where ambient rather than task lighting is needed, the Ambler works as a solo fitting or in pairs flanking doorways, mirrors, or bed heads. The 16cm projection suits alcoves and chimney breasts where deeper fittings would intrude into circulation space. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments only.
The amber glass sphere filters the bulb's light output to a warmer tone than clear glass equivalents, complementing oak, walnut and other warm-toned timbers. The satin brass accent on the arm adds a mid-century reference without dominating the fitting's overall black profile. At 0.39kg the Ambler fixes to standard plasterboard with appropriate cavity fixings or direct to masonry.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Ambler takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 10W (sold separately). Most users pair this with a 3W-5W warm-white LED G9 bulb at 2700K-3000K to achieve the rated 400lm output through the amber glass.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is only suitable for dry indoor locations. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, kitchens above worktops, or any environment with moisture or splashing.
How far does it project from the wall?
The fitting projects 16cm from the wall surface when mounted. This depth suits alcoves and chimney breasts but may intrude in narrow hallways under 90cm width.
What colour is the light output?
The amber glass tints the bulb's light to a warmer tone than the bulb's native colour temperature. A 3000K warm-white LED bulb will appear closer to 2500K once filtered through the amber sphere, producing a soft golden glow.
