Description
This is a slim, tubular LED filament bulb in amber glass, 18.5cm long and 3cm across, with a brass-coloured E27 screw cap. Inside the tinted tube a single fine filament runs almost the full length, so the bulb looks as good switched off as it does lit. It draws 2W and gives 100lm at 1800K, a very warm light with a deep amber cast close to candlelight. With an IP20 rating it is made for indoor, dry rooms, so keep it away from bathrooms and the garden.
We would choose it for a place where the bulb is part of the look: an open pendant, a cage shade, a wall light with a bare lampholder or a table lamp without a shade, in a living room, dining area, hallway or bedroom. It is not suitable as a main light source, and that matters when you plan a room. At 100lm it gives a soft, low glow for evenings, mood and accent, so pair it with a brighter light where you read, cook or work. Its narrow shape slips into fittings that a round globe would crowd, and a group of open pendants fitted with them makes a warm cluster over a dining table.
The glass is tinted amber all the way round, which gives the warm colour even before the filament lights, and the cap has a brass-coloured finish that suits gold, brass and black metal fittings. The bulb is dimmable, with 3-step dimming and a memory function, and it runs on 220 to 240V, 50/60Hz mains. Packed, it weighs just 0.047KG. To clean it, switch it off, let it cool and wipe the glass with a soft, dry cloth. Before you buy, check that the lampholder takes an E27 screw cap and that the shade or cage leaves room for a bulb 18.5cm long.
