Amara 2 Light K9 Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Chrome

The Amara is a compact crystal flush ceiling light measuring 43.2cm wide and just 24cm tall, built around a polished chrome frame strung with rows of faceted K9 crystal. Two G9 lamps (40W max each) sit inside a basket of cut crystal, with a top rim of larger octagonal stones and a single faceted drop hanging from the centre point. Fine chrome chains threaded with crystal beads swag between the rim sections, adding the layered detail typical of traditional basket-style fittings.

The shallow 24cm drop makes the Amara suitable for ceilings where a pendant or longer chandelier would feel cramped — typically rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2-2.4m, including hallways, landings, smaller bedrooms, walk-in wardrobes and dressing areas. It mounts flush to a standard UK ceiling rose and uses two G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately), which keep the lamp itself hidden inside the crystal basket so the light source reads as the crystal rather than the bulb.

K9 is an optical-grade leaded crystal glass cut and polished to give clean facet edges and high light refraction, which is what produces the rainbow flecks the basket throws onto surrounding walls and ceiling when lit. The polished chrome frame gives a cool metallic note that pairs with both contemporary greys and traditional whites, and at 2.3kg the fitting is light enough to mount on a standard ceiling rose without additional bracing in most installations.

Is the Amara suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. With a total drop of 24cm and a flush-mount fixing, the Amara is designed for ceilings where a hanging pendant would feel too low. It works well in rooms with ceiling heights from around 2.2m upwards, including hallways, landings, small bedrooms and walk-in wardrobes.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The fitting takes two G9 capsule bulbs at up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this with warm-white G9 LED capsules at 3-4W and 2700K-3000K to keep heat output low while preserving the warm sparkle through the crystal.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself has no integrated driver, so dimmability depends on the bulbs chosen. Pairing it with dimmable G9 LEDs and a compatible LED dimmer switch will allow the output to be controlled. Always check bulb-and-dimmer compatibility before installation.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Amara does not carry a published IP rating, so it should be installed in dry interior rooms only. For bathroom installation a fitting with a specified IP rating appropriate to the zone is required.
