Description
The Alverin is an 820mm tall table lamp built around a vertical column of natural Spanish alabaster, divided into two cylindrical stone segments separated and capped by polished brass collars. A faceted crystal finial sits above the upper brass cap, with an ivory drum shade trimmed in a matching brass band. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and stands on a stepped square brass base that anchors the slender column.
At 820mm tall with a 380mm shade diameter, the Alverin works as a console lamp in a hallway, a pair flanking a sideboard or fireplace, or as a bedside lamp in rooms with bedside tables of 600mm or higher. The proportions read as architectural rather than ornamental, so it pairs well with low, horizontal furniture that lets the vertical line of the alabaster column do the work.
Each section of the alabaster column is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tonal variation differ between individual lamps. Light from the E27 bulb passes through the ivory PVC shade above and also catches the translucent stone in the column itself, creating two distinct light qualities from a single fitting. The brass collars, stem detail and stepped plinth are finished in a warm satin tone rather than a high mirror polish, softening reflections under daylight.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Alverin take?
The lamp takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K complements the ivory shade and warm brass detailing.
Does the alabaster vary between lamps?
Yes. Each cylindrical segment is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect.
Is the alabaster column lit from within?
The bulb sits above the column under the shade, so the primary light output is through the ivory shade. Light also catches the translucent alabaster segments below, giving the column a soft glow alongside the main shaded output.
How is the lamp cleaned?
Wipe the alabaster gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners on the stone, as alabaster is porous and softer than marble. The brass and shade can be dusted with a soft dry cloth.
