Description
The Altessa is a 670mm tall table lamp built around three vertical alabaster columns of varying heights, each seated in its own brushed brass cylinder on a shared circular base. Three E14 lamp sockets sit one inside each brass cylinder, lighting the alabaster from below so the stone itself acts as the diffuser. The base measures 250mm in diameter and is finished in a warm brushed brass.
The Altessa is sized for console tables, sideboards, dressing tables and bedside surfaces where a sculptural decorative light is wanted alongside, or in place of, traditional ambient lighting. The three columns produce a soft, layered glow rather than directed task light, so it pairs well with a separate reading lamp in living rooms or with overhead lighting in bedrooms. The tallest column reaches roughly 670mm, giving it presence without dominating a typical 800-900mm-deep sideboard.
Each alabaster column is cut from a single piece of natural Spanish alabaster, and the veining, density and translucency vary between pieces, so no two Altessa lamps light identically. The stepped arrangement of the three columns gives the lamp visible movement from any viewing angle, while the brushed brass cylinders and circular base provide a unified base that reads as a single sculptural object rather than three separate fittings.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Altessa take?
The lamp has three E14 (small Edison screw) lamp sockets, one inside each brass cylinder beneath the alabaster columns. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white LED candle bulb between 2700K-3000K and around 4-6W per bulb is well-suited to the alabaster, producing the soft glow the columns are designed to diffuse.
Is the Altessa dimmable?
The lamp itself does not include an inline dimmer. Dimming depends on the bulbs you fit and any in-line or wall dimmer used. If you plan to dim, choose dimmable LED candle bulbs and confirm compatibility with your specific dimmer model before pairing.
Does the alabaster vary between pieces?
Yes. Each column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral density and translucency differ between individual pieces. When lit, this variation becomes more visible and is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners on the columns or the brushed brass base.
