Aloha Waterproof Fabric Dining Chair - Aquamarine

The Aloha is a 50cm-wide dining chair built around a moulded plywood shell upholstered in aquamarine waterproof suede, set on four matt black powder-coated metal legs. The plywood shell is padded with high-resilience polyurethane foam beneath the suede, giving a firm but cushioned seating surface that holds its shape over time. A cut-out handle in the backrest reduces visual weight and provides a grip point for pulling the chair out from under a table.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and café settings where spill resistance matters, the waterproof suede repels liquid without needing a protective coating that can crack or peel. The chair stands 88cm tall from floor to top of backrest and has a 59cm seat depth, giving a reclined seating angle that suits longer meals without tipping too far back for desk or counter-height use. The matt black legs taper from 25mm square at the frame junction to 20mm at the floor, keeping a light profile under the aquamarine shell.

The aquamarine tone sits between duck egg and teal, working as a cool accent in neutral interiors or as a tonal layer in schemes that already include grey-greens, soft blues or coastal palettes. The waterproof suede has a soft hand but a tighter weave than standard suede, so it reads as matte fabric rather than high-gloss vinyl. Schuller supplies the chair flat-packed with bolt-together assembly — legs attach to the underside of the shell with four hex bolts per leg. Dry clean only for deeper stain removal; surface spills wipe clean with a damp cloth.

How waterproof is the suede upholstery?

The aquamarine suede is treated to repel liquid spills — water, coffee and most food liquids bead on the surface and can be wiped away with a damp cloth before they soak into the foam. The waterproofing is in the weave and backing, not a surface coating, so it does not crack or wear off with use.

Does the chair require assembly?

Yes. The Aloha ships flat-packed with the legs detached. Each leg bolts to the underside of the plywood shell using four hex bolts. An assembly instruction PDF is linked in the Downloads tab above.

What table height does it suit?

The seat height is approximately 46-47cm from the floor (measured to the top of the foam padding), which suits standard dining tables at 74-76cm height. The backrest extends to 88cm, so allow clearance if the chair will tuck under a counter or apron.

Can the upholstery be cleaned at home?

Surface spills wipe clean with a damp microfibre cloth. For deeper stains or marks that do not lift with water, Schuller recommends dry cleaning only — do not machine wash or use solvent-based household cleaners on the waterproof suede.
