Description

The Alize is a dining chair with a plywood shell upholstered in off-white 100% polyester fabric, supported by four matt black powder-coated metal legs. The seat and backrest are formed from a single curved plywood panel layered with foam padding, creating a continuous surface that wraps from seat to mid-back height. The fabric cover is stitched with visible topstitching along the edges, defining the sculptural form.

Designed for dining tables in kitchens, dining rooms and open-plan kitchen-dining areas, the Alize pairs a compact 56cm width with a 75cm overall height that tucks under most 72-76cm table heights. The curved backrest supports the lower lumbar region without extending to full shoulder height, allowing the chair to be pushed fully under the table edge when not in use. At 7.7kg the chair is light enough to be moved by one person but stable enough not to shift on hard floors during use.

The matt black leg finish contrasts against the off-white upholstery, giving the chair definition in rooms with light-coloured walls or flooring. The polyester fabric resists pilling and holds tension across the plywood shell without sagging, but requires dry cleaning to maintain the bright off-white tone — machine washing or water-based cleaners can discolour the textile. The legs taper from a wider diameter at the seat connection to a narrower foot, reducing visual weight at floor level.

The off-white polyester fabric requires dry cleaning only. Water-based cleaners, steam cleaning and machine washing can discolour the textile or cause the fabric to shrink away from the plywood shell. For light surface marks, a soft brush or lint roller is recommended.

Does the chair arrive assembled?

No. The Alize ships flat-packed with the legs and seat shell separate. Assembly involves bolting the four legs to threaded inserts in the underside of the seat using hex-key fixings, and takes approximately 10-15 minutes per chair. The assembly instruction PDF is linked in the Downloads tab above.

The specification lists the overall height as 75cm, which includes the backrest.
