The Alfa Large is a 240mm crystal table lamp built around a polished brass arch that supports a precision-cut optical glass shade at its peak. The shade is moulded from clear glass with a multi-faceted surface that refracts light from a single G9 bulb (sold separately), casting angular patterns across adjacent surfaces when lit.

Designed for side tables, console tables and bedside positions where decorative task or ambient light is needed, the Alfa sits on a rectangular polished brass base measuring 180mm long. The 240mm height keeps the light source at a comfortable height for reading beside a sofa or armchair without requiring the user to look directly at the bulb. The lamp pairs naturally with contemporary interiors that use metallics, glass and reflective surfaces, and also works in traditional settings where brass accents are present.

The polished brass finish is mirror-bright and requires occasional buffing with a soft cloth to maintain its reflective quality. The optical glass shade weighs 1.2kg in total with the brass frame, giving the lamp a stable centre of gravity on the base. The G9 socket accepts halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to 40W, and the lamp is dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch on the wall circuit.

The lamp takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. We suggest pairing this with a 3-5W LED G9 bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for reading or ambient light.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the lamp is dimmable when used with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch installed on the wall circuit. The lamp itself has no integrated dimmer control.

How is the polished brass finish maintained?

Polished brass tarnishes over time when exposed to air and fingerprints. Buff the brass frame occasionally with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to restore its mirror finish. For heavier tarnish, a brass-specific polish can be used, but avoid getting polish on the glass shade.

What surface does the base suit?

The 180mm rectangular base is flat-bottomed and stable on smooth surfaces like wood, glass or marble console tables and bedside tables. On very high-gloss surfaces the polished brass may leave faint contact marks over time, which can be buffed out.
