Description
The Alessia is a 3-light bar pendant with a 106cm satin pearl grey bar suspending three matte white metal drum shades on black fabric cables. Each shade houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately), directing light downward through the open base of the drum while the metal sides block glare from seated eye-level.
Designed for kitchen islands between 1.6-2m length, dining tables seating four to six, and narrow bar counters, the Alessia provides task lighting and ambient fill across a linear zone. The 40-140cm adjustable drop allows the pendants to be set 60-80cm above a worktop or 70-90cm above a dining surface depending on ceiling height. The satin pearl grey finish reads as a soft warm neutral under daylight and tungsten light, pairing comfortably with white, pale wood, and grey-toned interiors.
Each drum shade is 28cm diameter and 19cm tall, giving enough visual mass to anchor the span without overwhelming smaller rooms. The combined 3.51kg weight distributes across the ceiling bar, which fits a standard UK ceiling rose with the supplied fixings. The metal construction is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations only. Schuller produces the Alessia in Spain using rolled and powder-coated steel for the frame and shades.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Alessia take?
Each shade takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining and kitchen use.
What length kitchen island does it suit?
The 106cm bar span works best over islands between 1.6-2m long. For islands longer than 2m, consider pairing two Alessia pendants or choosing a wider bar configuration if available in the Schuller range.
How low should the shades hang above a worktop or table?
For kitchen worktops, 60-80cm clearance between the bottom of the shade and the surface provides adequate task light without obstructing sightlines. For dining tables, 70-90cm clearance prevents the pendants from blocking conversation across the table while keeping light focused on the surface.
Is the cable length adjustable?
Yes. The suspension cables are adjustable between 40cm and 140cm total drop from ceiling to shade base, allowing the height to be set during installation to suit the room.
