Alboran 1 Light Table Lamp - White

The Alboran is a 330mm-diameter white metal table lamp built around three layered circular screens positioned at staggered heights on a central column. A single E27 bulb inside the shade structure casts light between the layers, creating soft gradients and shadow patterns as the light spills through the gaps and reflects off the white metal surfaces.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables and side tables in living rooms and bedrooms, the Alboran functions as both ambient lighting and a sculptural object. The 580mm height positions the light source at a comfortable level for reading when placed on a standard bedside table, while the layered shade diffuses the bulb to prevent glare. The lamp sits on a circular white metal base with a diameter of approximately 200mm, giving it enough stability to handle the 5.5kg weight of the shade structure without tipping on typical furniture surfaces.

The white powder-coated finish on the metal gives a clean, matte appearance that sits comfortably in contemporary and minimalist interiors. Each of the three circular screens is made from formed sheet metal, positioned to create overlapping rings when viewed from the side. The spaces between the screens allow light to escape horizontally as well as upward and downward, so the lamp illuminates both the surface it sits on and the wall behind it. The E27 socket accepts any standard bulb up to the wattage limit specified in the table below, and dimming capability depends on pairing the lamp with both a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch.

What bulb does it take?

The Alboran takes a standard E27 bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedside or living room lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, but only when paired with both a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The lamp itself has no built-in dimming function — dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb and switch combination you choose.

What surface does it need?

The circular base is approximately 200mm in diameter. The lamp weighs 5.5kg, so it needs a stable, level surface such as a bedside table, console table or sideboard. The base is powder-coated metal, so placing it on polished wood may benefit from a felt pad underneath to prevent marking.

How does the layered shade affect the light output?

The three staggered circular screens diffuse and redirect light rather than block it. Light escapes horizontally through the gaps between the screens as well as upward and downward, so the lamp illuminates both the table surface and the wall behind it. The effect is ambient rather than directional.
