Description

The Albavilla is a surface mounted LED profile: a long, crisp rectangular bar with a black finish over an aluminium body. Along its underside runs a single row of small recessed square cells, each set back in its own louvred surround, which gives the light a precise, technical look. It is 40.3cm long, 4.6cm wide and 6.8cm high, and weighs 0.73KG. The LEDs are integrated and deliver 3,750 lumens at 4000K, a neutral white that sits between warm and cool. We recommend it for dry rooms indoors, well away from water.

On a ceiling it gives a kitchen, a home office, a hallway or a utility room a strong run of light without a pendant hanging into the space. Because it sits on the surface rather than in a cut-out, it suits ceilings where recessed lights are awkward to fit, such as concrete, or where you would rather not cut into the plasterboard. The light is dimmable, so the same profile can work hard over a worktop or desk and then drop to a gentler level later in the evening. The black finish looks at home against dark ceilings, industrial schemes and kitchens with black taps and handles.

The body is aluminium, a light, rigid metal that does not rust, finished in black. The LEDs are replaceable by a specialist, so the light need not be thrown away when they reach the end of their life. It runs on mains power at 220-240V, 50/60Hz, and has an energy class of E. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. For care, cut the power and let the light cool, then wipe it with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding polishes and solvents so the black finish stays even.
