Description

The Alaska is a 3-light semi-flush ceiling light with three curved antique brass arms radiating from a central hub, each terminating in a sculpted frosted glass shade. The arms sweep outward and downward in a gentle arc, positioning the shades in a circular formation 370mm across. Each shade combines frosted panels for diffusion with clear outer facets that catch and refract the light, creating a multi-dimensional glow. The fitting includes three SGU10 lamps delivering 27W total output at 2700K warm white.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, and smaller living spaces with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, the Alaska provides ambient light without dominating the ceiling plane. The 140mm drop from ceiling to shade base keeps the fitting close to the surface, making it suitable for rooms where a full pendant would hang too low. The antique brass finish provides warmth against white or cream ceilings and pairs comfortably with traditional and transitional interior schemes.

The sculpted glass shades show a star-like profile when viewed from below, with pointed ridges and curved facets that add texture under both natural daylight and evening illumination. The antique brass has a slightly aged patina that softens reflections compared to polished brass, giving the metalwork a heritage character. At 1.9kg the fitting requires secure fixing into a ceiling joist or solid material, and the circular backplate conceals the wiring entry point.

Are the lamps included?

Yes. The Alaska includes three SGU10 lamps rated at 9W each, delivering 27W total output at 2700K warm white. The lamps are CFL (compact fluorescent) and are pre-installed.

Is it dimmable?

No. The included SGU10 CFL lamps are not compatible with dimmer switches. Installing a dimmer may cause flicker or damage the lamps.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 140mm drop makes the Alaska suitable for standard 2.4m ceiling heights and above. In rooms with ceilings below 2.4m the fitting will still clear typical door frames and head height.

How is the glass cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow the lamps to cool. Remove each glass shade by unscrewing or unclipping from the brass socket (check the fitting instructions for the exact mechanism). Wash in warm soapy water, rinse, dry thoroughly and refit.
