Description

The Alaska is a 320mm-high table lamp built around a satin nickel arch frame that suspends a star-shaped frosted glass shade from a central point. The frame rises from a flat two-footed base in brushed satin nickel, curving upward to hold a single G9 bulb fitting inside the glass shade. The frosted glass diffuses light evenly in all directions while the angular star-cut shape gives the shade a geometric profile when viewed from the side.

Designed for bedside tables, desks and narrow console surfaces, the Alaska fits comfortably in spaces with a 210mm depth constraint. The compact footprint and low 320mm height suit low-headboard bedframes, laptop workstations and accent tables where taller task lamps would obscure sightlines. The arched frame keeps the shade elevated above the base, allowing light to reach the surface beneath as well as radiate upward and outward.

The satin nickel finish on the metal frame gives a soft brushed appearance that sits between polished chrome and brushed steel in tone, pairing comfortably with both warm and cool interior palettes. The G9 fitting accepts standard capsule bulbs up to 40W (sold separately), and the lamp is dimmable when paired with a G9-compatible LED bulb and appropriate dimmer switch. At 0.56kg the lamp has enough weight to sit stable without toppling when the shade is adjusted, but remains light enough to reposition easily.

The lamp takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 3-5W LED G9 bulb in 2700K-3000K for bedside or desk use.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the lamp is dimmable when fitted with a dimmable G9 LED bulb and paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch. Standard incandescent or halogen G9 bulbs are also dimmable, but LED bulbs offer better energy efficiency and cooler running temperatures.

What's the actual footprint on a bedside table?

The two-footed base occupies approximately 210mm x 140mm of surface space. The arch frame extends upward from this footprint, so the lamp does not overhang the edges of typical bedside tables (which are usually 400-500mm wide).

Can the shade be replaced if damaged?

The frosted glass shade is held in place by the metal fittings at the top of the arch. Replacement shades may be available through Mantra or Niori — contact us with the model number M0615 to check current availability.
