The Alaska is a single-light table lamp built around an antique brass arch frame that rises 320mm from a flat base, suspending a frosted glass shade at its apex. The frame curves in a geometric arch, supporting the glass from above rather than below, which gives the lamp a suspended appearance despite its small 210mm footprint. The G9 bulb sits inside the frosted glass shade (sold separately, up to 40W), casting diffused light downwards and outwards through the glass.

Designed for bedside tables, desks and narrow console surfaces where a standard table lamp base would be too wide, the Alaska's flat arch base keeps the light source centred without requiring a cylindrical footprint. The 320mm height positions the bulb roughly level with a seated reader's eye line when placed on a standard bedside table, making it workable as reading light when paired with a directional G9 bulb. The lamp is dimmable when used with a compatible G9 dimmable bulb and a mains dimmer switch.

The antique brass finish on the metal frame shows a darker, aged patina compared to polished or brushed brass, with tonal variation across the surface that suggests oxidation. This finish pairs with traditional and transitional interiors where warmer metal tones are preferred over chrome or nickel. Does the lamp come with a bulb?

No. The Alaska requires one G9 bulb up to 40W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 3-5W LED G9 bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedside or desk use.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible mains dimmer switch. The lamp itself does not have a built-in dimmer control.

What surfaces does the arch base suit?

How is the frosted glass cleaned?

Wipe the glass shade with a dry microfibre cloth when the lamp is switched off and cool. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with water is acceptable. Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the glass or metal frame.
