Description

The Alaska is a single-light wall lamp with a satin nickel metal arm and backplate, paired with a frosted geometric glass shade and an integrated rocker switch on the backplate. The lamp ships with a 9W 2700K GU10 bulb already fitted, delivering warm white light through the frosted glass. The switch allows the lamp to be turned on and off directly at the wall, making it practical where separate wall switching isn't available.

Designed for bedside mounting, hallways and reading corners, the Alaska provides directed task light while the frosted shade softens the glare. The 130mm projection from the wall and 250mm total height suit mounting heights of 1200-1500mm above floor level for reading positions, or 1700-1900mm for hallway navigation lighting. The backplate diameter of 100mm covers a standard 25mm round pattress box.

The satin nickel finish is a low-sheen brushed metal that falls between bright chrome and brushed steel, pairing comfortably with both warm-toned and cooler interiors. The frosted glass shade has a faceted geometric profile that catches ambient light and gives the fitting a more sculptural presence than a plain cylindrical shade. At 0.65kg the lamp is light enough to be supported by a solid wall on standard wall plugs without requiring additional bracing.

Does the lamp come with a bulb?

Yes. The Alaska ships with a 9W 2700K GU10 bulb already fitted. The bulb is a warm white LED delivering soft ambient light through the frosted glass shade.

Can the bulb be replaced with a different type?

The lamp takes standard GU10 twist-and-lock bulbs up to 9W. You can swap the included bulb for a different GU10 LED if you prefer a different colour temperature or brightness, provided it stays within the 9W rating.

Is the lamp dimmable?

No. The integrated rocker switch is an on/off control only, with no dimming function. The lamp is not compatible with dimmer switches.

What height should it be mounted at?

For bedside reading, mount the backplate 1200-1500mm above floor level so the light falls onto a book or tablet when seated. For hallway navigation lighting, mount at 1700-1900mm to avoid head-height obstruction while still illuminating the floor.
