Description

The Akira is a 54cm 3-light chandelier built around a curved antique brass frame with three black fabric shades, each positioned on a sculpted crystal glass cup. The frame sweeps upward from a central column in three arched arms, holding an E14 bulb fitting beneath each shade. The crystal cups sit between the brass arms and the black shades, catching and reflecting light through the transparent glass.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and kitchen islands where a compact pendant needs presence without overwhelming a 2.4-2.7m ceiling height, the Akira provides both ambient and decorative lighting. The drop is adjustable between 540mm and 1550mm on installation, allowing the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or worktop depending on ceiling height. The 54cm diameter suits tables of 1.2-1.8m length or kitchen islands up to 2m.

The antique brass finish has a warm oxide patina that softens reflections and pairs with warm-toned woods, dark marble and contemporary greys. The black shades direct light downward while the fabric diffuses and softens the output from the three E14 bulbs (sold separately), reducing glare at eye level when seated. The crystal cups add a traditional chandelier detail while the clean lines of the brass frame and the geometric shades keep the overall form contemporary rather than classical.

The frame and fittings weigh 3kg total, requiring a ceiling rose or mounting point rated for at least 5kg to accommodate the chandelier plus bulbs and chain load. The brass is lacquered to reduce tarnishing, so occasional dusting with a dry microfibre cloth maintains the finish without polishing.
