Description
The Akira is a 610mm table lamp built around two antique brass stems rising from a rectangular base, each supporting a black fabric shade flanked by three faceted crystal discs. The lamp takes two E27 bulbs (sold separately), housed inside the shades, with the crystals positioned outside the fabric to catch and refract ambient light without blocking output from the bulbs.
Designed for bedside tables, console tables and dressing tables, the Akira provides dual-source task and ambient lighting from a compact 300mm square footprint. The two-tier vertical arrangement gives the lamp height without taking up lateral surface space, making it suitable for narrow consoles or smaller bedside tables where a single tall lamp would dominate. The antique brass finish sits between polished brass and darker bronze tones, showing a warm metallic base with subtle patina that pairs comfortably with both warm-toned woods and cooler greys.
The three crystal discs on each stem are faceted cut glass mounted on the brass rods between the base and the shades, creating visual detail at the centre of the lamp. The black fabric shades measure approximately 300mm wide at the base, tapering to 200mm at the top, with the fabric diffusing bulb glare while the crystals add decorative accent. The lamp weighs 3.7kg, giving it stability on a bedside or console surface without being difficult to reposition.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Akira take?
The lamp takes two standard E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs around 6-8W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedside or living room use.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, provided you use dimmable E27 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The lamp itself has no built-in dimming control, so dimming is controlled via the wall switch or a plug-in dimmer module.
How tall is it compared to a typical bedside table?
At 610mm the Akira stands approximately the same height as a standard bedside table (600-650mm). This makes it suitable for reading from a seated or reclined position without the light source sitting too high above eye level.
Can the crystals be removed?
The crystal discs are mounted on the brass stems as part of the fixed structure. They are not removable without disassembling the lamp frame.
