Description

The Akira is a 380mm table lamp built on a polished chrome stem rising from a square chrome base, supporting a black fabric shade with a sculpted crystal accent positioned just beneath the shade ring. The lamp takes a single E14 bulb (sold separately) behind the black fabric, which diffuses the light while the crystal element above catches and refracts whatever spill escapes upwards.

Designed for bedside tables, side tables next to armchairs, or console surfaces in hallways and living rooms, the Akira's 140mm square footprint fits narrow surfaces without overhang. The polished chrome stem and base create strong reflections under daylight, giving the lamp visual presence even when switched off. The black shade prevents glare when the lamp is used at eye level in a seated position, making it suitable for reading or ambient lighting in bedrooms and lounges.

The crystal accent is a single moulded piece that sits on the chrome stem like a collar, positioned where the stem meets the shade holder. When lit, the crystal picks up refracted light from the bulb and adds a subtle decorative layer to what is otherwise a functional geometric form. The 1.7kg weight gives the lamp stability on most surfaces without requiring a wide base. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb chosen — pair with a dimmable E14 LED to control output from full brightness down to a low night-light level.
