Description

The Agatha is a 3 light semi-flush pendant with a polished chrome frame and three cut glass shades arranged on a cross-arm configuration. Each shade is moulded from clear glass with a vertical cut pattern that refracts light, and the fitting includes integrated 3W LED modules that illuminate acrylic rods running through the central column and down through each shade holder. The IP44 rating allows the pendant to be installed in bathroom zones 2 and 3, where moisture resistance is required.

Designed for bathrooms, en-suites and hallways with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Agatha provides ambient lighting through the combination of LED-lit rods and the three glass shades. The drop is adjustable between 425mm and 1325mm on installation, allowing the pendant to be set lower in rooms with higher ceilings or closer to the ceiling in standard-height bathrooms. The 474mm width suits rooms where a central pendant needs to sit above a bath, vanity or hallway run without dominating the space.

The polished chrome finish reflects bathroom lighting and pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and shower fittings. The cut glass pattern on each shade creates refracted light patterns on surrounding walls when lit, adding decorative function beyond simple illumination. The integrated LED runs at 3W total, consuming minimal energy while providing enough light for ambient bathroom use alongside task lighting at mirrors and vanities.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The Agatha carries an IP44 rating, making it suitable for installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3. This means it can be fitted above a bath or shower enclosure at least 60cm from the water source, or anywhere outside zone 1.

Is the LED replaceable?

The integrated LED is built into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for a typical lifespan of 20,000-30,000 hours depending on usage patterns. If the LED fails within the manufacturer's warranty period, contact Elstead Lighting or the retailer for warranty support.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 425mm means the fitting sits 425mm below the ceiling at its shortest setting. For a standard 2.4m ceiling, this leaves approximately 1.975m of clearance beneath the pendant, which is adequate for most bathrooms and hallways. The drop can be extended up to 1325mm for rooms with higher ceilings.

Can it be fitted on a sloped ceiling?

The Agatha is designed for horizontal ceiling mounting. Sloped or vaulted ceilings would require an adapter plate to level the ceiling rose, which is not included. Contact Elstead Lighting to confirm compatibility before purchasing for non-horizontal ceilings.
