Description

The Agatha is a single-pendant light with a cut glass shade suspended on a polished chrome rod and canopy, rated IP44 for safe use in bathroom zones 2 and 3. The glass shade is moulded with vertical facets that refract light when a G9 LED bulb is fitted, producing small points of sparkle across the surface rather than a single diffused glow.

Designed for bathrooms, hallways and compact spaces where a low-profile pendant fits better than a ceiling-flush fitting, the Agatha suits ceiling heights from 2.4m upward. The drop is adjustable between 401mm and 1310mm on installation by cutting the rod to length, allowing the pendant to hang 200-300mm above a vanity or sink where zone 2 IP44 protection is required, or lower in hallways where no IP rating applies. The 136mm shade diameter keeps the fitting compact enough for narrow corridors and small bathrooms without overwhelming the space.

The polished chrome finish provides a high-gloss metallic surface that pairs well with chrome taps, towel rails and modern bathroom fittings. The cut glass shade weighs approximately 200g and the combined fitting sits on a 100mm diameter ceiling rose that conceals the cable entry. Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water and is suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which includes positions above sinks, over baths and outside shower enclosures. It is not rated for use inside a shower enclosure or directly above a bath where water jets could hit the fitting.

What bulb does it take?

The Agatha takes a G9 capsule LED bulb up to 3W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white 2700K-3000K G9 LED for ambient bathroom or hallway lighting.

How is the drop adjusted?

The rod can be cut to length during installation, allowing the pendant to hang anywhere between 401mm and 1310mm from the ceiling. Once installed the drop is fixed and cannot be adjusted without re-fitting.

Is the chrome finish easy to keep clean?

Polished chrome shows water marks and fingerprints more readily than brushed or satin finishes. Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth and a small amount of glass cleaner or distilled water to maintain the high-gloss surface.
