Description

The Aethera Large is a 200mm diameter table lamp built around a slim brushed brass column rising from a circular brass base, topped with a drum-shaped black fabric shade. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) behind a fireproof PVC liner covered in woven fabric, diffusing light evenly through the shade while the brass stem adds a vertical accent.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables in hallways, or side tables in living rooms, the Aethera sits at a height that works well for ambient lighting rather than close-range reading. The 2100mm cable length allows placement away from immediate wall sockets without requiring extension leads. The brushed brass finish on the stem and base pairs comfortably with both warm-toned timber furniture and cooler grey or white schemes.

The black fabric shade contrasts with the brass column, creating a two-tone finish that reads as contemporary rather than traditional. The shade itself is a tight-weave fabric over a PVC drum, giving a clean cylindrical profile without pleats or taper. The brass is brushed rather than polished, reducing glare under daylight and giving a softer metallic tone than mirror-finish brass. The lamp carries a 5-year warranty and an IP20 rating, making it suitable for indoor use in dry rooms only.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does it take?

The Aethera takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting. The shade diffuses the bulb so exposed-filament styles are not required.

Is it dimmable?

The lamp itself has no dimming mechanism. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose and the dimmer model in the circuit. Please consult the bulb manufacturer's specifications before pairing with a dimmer.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating makes the Aethera suitable for dry indoor rooms only. It is not rated for use in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any environment where water contact is possible.

How is the shade cleaned?

Wipe the fabric shade gently with a dry microfibre cloth or use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to remove dust. Do not use water or cleaning sprays on the fabric as they may stain or damage the material.
