Description

The Aethera is a white floor lamp built around a powder-coated metal column and a circular base, topped with a 280mm diameter cylindrical shade wrapped in white fabric over a fireproof PVC inner. The single E27 bulb fitting inside the shade (bulb sold separately) casts light down and out through the fabric, diffusing it into soft ambient illumination rather than directional task light.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and study spaces where ambient lighting is needed without ceiling fittings, the Aethera suits modern and Scandinavian interiors. The white-on-white finish allows it to blend into painted walls and pale wood floors, or to act as a contrast against darker furniture. The cylindrical shade holds its shape without sagging and the weighted circular base provides stability on both hard floors and rugs.

The powder-coated metal frame resists chips and scratches better than painted finishes, and the fabric-wrapped shade can be wiped clean with a dry microfibre cloth. The 5-year manufacturer warranty from Ideal Lux covers material and construction defects. The lamp carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is suitable for dry indoor use only and should not be placed in bathrooms or outdoor covered areas.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does the Aethera take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting. The fabric shade diffuses the light, so higher-wattage bulbs are not necessary and may cause heat buildup.

Is the Aethera dimmable?

The lamp itself has no built-in dimming capability. However, you can achieve dimmed light by pairing it with a dimmable E27 LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit, or by using a plug-in dimmer module between the lamp and the wall socket.

Can the shade be cleaned?

Yes. The fabric-wrapped shade can be wiped gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the fabric and do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners.

What height is the lamp?

The total height is not listed in the specification table. Based on the image, the Aethera stands approximately 1.5-1.6m tall from base to shade top, which is typical for a floor lamp designed to light a seating area from beside an armchair or sofa.
