Description

The Aethera is a floor lamp with a slender matt black metal stem rising from a circular base, topped with a 280mm diameter black fabric drum shade. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately), which sits inside the shade and directs light both upwards and downwards through the open ends of the drum.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and home offices where ambient or reading light is needed without ceiling wiring, the Aethera stands approximately 1600mm tall and fits into corners, beside sofas or next to reading chairs. The circular base provides stability on both carpet and hard floors without requiring a large footprint. The black fabric shade diffuses the bulb output into a soft wash rather than a sharp downlight, reducing glare for close-range reading.

The powder-coated metal frame maintains a consistent matt finish that resists fingerprints and minor scuffs. The fabric shade is backed with fireproof PVC for safety compliance and can be dusted or wiped clean. Rated IP20, the lamp is suitable for dry indoor areas only. Ideal Lux backs the Aethera with a five-year manufacturer warranty.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does the Aethera take?

The lamp takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a 6-10W LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for living room or bedroom use.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The lamp itself is not dimmable. Dimming would require pairing a dimmable E27 LED bulb with a compatible table lamp dimmer or smart bulb control, which must be purchased separately.

What height is the lamp?

The specification table does not list total height, but the image shows a standard floor lamp proportion of approximately 1600mm. Confirm exact height before purchase if clearance is critical.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the lamp is suitable for dry indoor areas only and must not be used in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any location where it may be exposed to moisture.
