Description

The Aethera is a 16cm cone lampshade with a white fabric outer and a fireproof PVC inner lining. The tapered cone shape narrows from a 16cm base diameter to a smaller top aperture, directing light downwards while allowing some upward spill through the top opening.

Designed for table lamps, bedside lamps and small decorative bases, the 16cm diameter suits compact fittings where a larger shade would dominate. The shade fits standard European and UK lamp bases with E14 or E27 bulb holders, clipping or threading onto the lamp harp or bulb fitting depending on the base design. The white fabric diffuses the light from the bulb, softening the output and reducing glare when viewed from the side.

The fabric covering is bonded to a PVC backing that meets fireproof standards, preventing the shade from igniting if a bulb overheats or comes into contact with the material. The white finish works across contemporary, Scandinavian, coastal and traditional interiors, pairing with metal, ceramic, wood and glass lamp bases. The 16cm scale keeps the shade proportional to smaller bases without overpowering side tables or narrow shelving.

Is the white fabric opaque or translucent?
