Description

The Aethera is a 16cm diameter cylinder lampshade in beige fabric stretched over a fireproof PVC frame. The fabric is a cotton-linen blend with a visible ribbed texture that diffuses light evenly while maintaining enough opacity to prevent glare from the bulb. The shade is designed to fit standard E27 pendant or table lamp fittings with an ES carrier ring.

Designed for small table lamps, bedside lamps, or accent pendants, the Aethera suits rooms where a soft, directed pool of light is needed without overwhelming the fitting. The 16cm diameter and shallow drum profile keep the shade proportionate to compact lamp bases and slimline pendant fittings. The beige tone is a natural linen-grey rather than a warm cream, so it pairs well with white, grey, and pale wood interiors without adding yellow warmth.

The fireproof PVC frame maintains the cylinder shape under the heat of incandescent or halogen bulbs (up to 60W), though most users pair this shade with LED bulbs to reduce heat and extend the fabric life. The fabric itself is tensioned onto the frame without seams on the outside surface, giving a clean finish when viewed from any angle. The shade weighs approximately 80g, so it sits securely on both table lamp fittings and pendant carriers without pulling the fitting out of alignment.

Frequently Asked

What lamp fittings does this shade fit?

The Aethera fits standard E27 (Edison screw) pendant lamp carriers and table lamp fittings with an ES duplex ring. If your fitting has a different carrier type (such as a spider ring or clip-on), this shade will not fit without an adapter.

What wattage bulb can it take?

The fireproof PVC frame is rated for bulbs up to 60W. Most users pair this shade with a 6-10W LED bulb in 2700K-3000K to reduce heat and extend the fabric life while providing sufficient light for reading or ambient use.

Is the beige tone warm or neutral?

The beige is a neutral linen-grey rather than a warm cream or yellow-beige. It reads closer to taupe or oatmeal in most lighting conditions, so it pairs well with cooler greys and pale woods without adding warmth to the palette.

How is the shade cleaned?

Use a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to remove dust. Avoid water or household cleaners, as the fabric is not treated for wet cleaning and may stain or shrink.
