Description

Clusters of small glass spheres sit across an antique brass frame, catching the light from a single candle lamp behind them and throwing it back in bright points. It measures 23cm across and keeps a shallow projection, so it stays close against the wall without crowding a narrow space. A pull switch on the fitting itself means it can be worked by hand, independently of the room's main lighting. We would fit a slim LED candle lamp in the E14 socket, which suits the scale of the glass.

It works well in pairs beside a bed, where the pull switch earns its keep for late reading, and just as well as a single light in a hallway, cloakroom or on a landing where a pendant would be in the way. The sparkle is small in scale rather than showy, so it settles into a plainly painted room as readily as a more decorative one. Fit a dimmable lamp and it will work on a dimmer if you have one, for a lower, warmer glow in the evening.

The frame is finished in antique brass, a softened warm tone rather than a bright polish, with the glass spheres held across it in a rounded arrangement. Dust shows quickly on faceted glass, so give the spheres a wipe with a dry lint free cloth from time to time with the power off. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; a bathroom is not the place for it. It carries a one year warranty. The same wall light is also offered with prism crystal in place of the spheres, in antique brass and in polished chrome, and the range extends to flush ceiling fittings in round and square shapes if you want something matching overhead. Lamps are not included.
