Description

Cut prism crystal sits across a frame finished in antique brass, so the light breaks up and scatters instead of pooling flat on the wall. At 23cm wide this is a small fitting, and the shallow projection keeps it well clear of shoulders in a passing space. A pull switch on the body means it can be worked where it sits, with no need to reach for a switch by the door. It takes an E14 candle lamp, and an LED candle is what we would fit here.

We reach for this beside a bed, where the pull switch does the job of a bedside lamp without giving up space on the table. A pair either side of a chimney breast works just as well, as does a single one in a short hallway or a dressing corner where a table lamp has nowhere to stand. The output is soft and glittery rather than broad, so treat it as one layer among others in a room that already has a main light. Fit a dimmable lamp and it will dim on a compatible circuit.

The metalwork is warm and slightly aged in tone, which keeps the crystal from looking cold, and the prisms are faceted so they catch light from across the room as well as from the lamp behind them. Dust the crystal with a dry lint-free cloth and leave the brass alone beyond a light buff; polishes and sprays will dull the finish over time. This is an indoor fitting for dry rooms such as bedrooms, sitting rooms and landings. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the same wall light with sphere crystal in place of the prisms, and in polished chrome, and the range runs on into round and square flush ceiling fittings if you want the two to agree overhead. Lamps are not included.
