Description

This is a broad white ceiling light with a DC fan built into it, so one fitting deals with both the light and the air in a room. The LED sits at the centre and dims by remote, and the tone of the white can be shifted from a soft domestic warmth through to a crisp, cooler light for reading or working by. The blades sweep 106cm across, which gives a wide, unhurried movement of air rather than a draught. Light comes from a single integrated LED drawing 20W, with the driver and the handset both part of the package.

We reach for this in bedrooms and sitting rooms where the ceiling is already doing enough, and where a fan hung alongside a separate pendant would crowd the space. It works well over a bed, in a garden room used through the summer, or in a home office that gets warm by the afternoon. Because everything is handled from the remote, the brightness and the colour of the light can be set from a chair rather than at the wall, and the fan can be run on its own when no light is wanted.

The blades and the central housing are finished in a flat white that reads quietly against a pale ceiling and keeps the whole thing looking lighter than its span suggests. Dust tends to settle along the upper faces of the blades, so run a dry cloth over them once in a while with the power off at the switch, and leave solvents and sprays away from the diffuser. It carries a five year warranty. The LED is built in, so there is nothing to replace at lamp level.
