Description

The Knightsbridge 6ft modular LED batten delivers selectable output from 28W to 49W and adjustable colour temperature across 3000K, 4000K and 5700K, allowing a single fitting to cover warm-white, neutral-white and cool-white applications. The wattage selector switches on the Tridonic constant-current driver, with maximum output reaching 7,200lm at 4000K and 49W. An opal polycarbonate diffuser covers the LED board and provides 120° beam distribution.

Designed for commercial, warehouse, retail and car park installations, the batten suits new builds and retrofits where variable output and colour temperature extend the fitting's use across multiple zones. The hinged gear tray opens for push-fit terminal block access without removing the batten from the ceiling, and rear and end conduit entries accommodate cable runs from different directions. The fitting mounts directly to ceilings at 600mm centres or onto BESA boxes using the pre-drilled fixing points.

The modular design accepts optional microwave sensor (MODMWS) and emergency (MODEMKIT) modules that plug into the driver without re-wiring the mains supply, allowing occupancy detection and maintained/non-maintained emergency modes to be added after initial installation. The pressed steel body and polycarbonate diffuser provide IP20 ingress protection, suitable for dry internal environments. At 1790mm length, 61mm width and 70mm projection, the batten fits standard commercial ceiling grids and suspended systems.

The L70B50 rating of 100,000 hours indicates the point at which 50% of a sample group would still maintain 70% of initial lumen output, translating to approximately 22 years at 12 hours per day operation before replacement becomes typical. The 7-year warranty covers both driver and LED board failures.

How do I adjust the wattage and colour temperature?

The wattage and CCT are adjusted via selector switches on the Tridonic driver inside the hinged gear tray. Open the tray, set the wattage switch to 28W, 34W, 41W or 49W, and set the CCT switch to 3000K, 4000K or 5700K. Power-cycle the fitting for the new settings to take effect.

Can I add a microwave sensor after installation?

Yes. The batten accepts the Knightsbridge MODMWS microwave sensor module and MODEMKIT emergency module as plug-in additions. Both modules connect directly to the driver without re-wiring the mains supply, allowing occupancy detection and emergency modes to be added post-installation.

What mounting options does the batten support?

The batten mounts directly to ceilings at 600mm centres using the pre-drilled fixing points, or onto BESA boxes for surface installation. Rear and end conduit entries accommodate cable runs from multiple directions, and the hinged gear tray allows terminal access without removing the batten from the ceiling.

Is the batten suitable for damp environments?

No. The IP20 rating protects against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but provides no moisture ingress protection. The batten is suitable for dry internal environments only — warehouses, offices, retail spaces, car parks with covered ceilings. For damp or outdoor locations, a higher IP-rated fitting is required.
