Description

The Knightsbridge 5W LED outdoor security bulkhead is a polycarbonate-bodied wall light with an IP54 rating, an integrated 5W LED delivering 460 lumens at 4000K cool white, and dual-voltage capability to run on either 110V or 230V mains supply. The white polycarbonate base houses the LED driver and lamp, covered by an opal polycarbonate diffuser that distributes light across a 120-degree beam angle.

Designed for continuous low-level security lighting, perimeter walkways, loading bays, external stairwells, car parks, outbuildings, and site huts, the bulkhead is rated for both indoor and outdoor use. The IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for locations exposed to rain but not direct water jets. The dual-voltage design allows the same fitting to be used on both standard domestic 230V circuits and 110V site supplies without modification.

The polycarbonate construction is impact-resistant and UV-stable, maintaining the white finish without yellowing under prolonged outdoor exposure. The fitting measures 197mm long by 108mm wide with a 78mm projection from the wall, fitting comfortably on standard brickwork or blockwork without needing recessed mounting. The opal diffuser conceals the LED module and softens the light output to reduce glare in pedestrian areas. The 5W consumption and 60,000-hour L70B50 rating (the point at which 50% of a batch will have declined to 70% of original output) give a service life of approximately 20 years at 8 hours per night before requiring replacement.

The Class II double-insulated construction eliminates the need for an earth connection, simplifying installation on older buildings where earth availability may be inconsistent. The fitting carries a 3-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and LED driver failure.
