Description

The Knightsbridge SUR5LEDIEM is a 1500mm suspended LED emergency fitting with integrated 55W SMD LED modules delivering 4800lm at 4000K through an opal diffuser. The fitting splits output 75% downward (direct) and 25% upward (indirect), providing task lighting below and ceiling wash above. The emergency function runs on a lithium battery module offering maintained, non-maintained or switched modes, delivering 170lm for three hours during mains failure.

Designed for commercial interiors including offices, meeting rooms, educational buildings and healthcare facilities, the fitting suits ceiling heights of 2.7m-3.5m where continuous ambient light and emergency lighting are both required. The 200mm width and 45mm body depth keep a low profile above desks and workstations. Wire suspension from the included 2m suspension kit allows height adjustment on installation, and loop-in/loop-out terminals on the driver simplify wiring across multiple fittings in a run.

The pressed steel body with white finish and white polypropylene end caps provides a neutral appearance that recedes into white or light grey ceilings. The opal diffuser spreads the 110° beam angle evenly without visible LED hotspots. The fitting carries IP20 ingress protection (suitable for dry indoor environments only) and Class I earthing. The LED modules are rated to L70B50 at 50,000 hours, meaning 70% of initial output remains after 50,000 hours under typical operating conditions.

The emergency battery module is excluded from the 5-year fixture warranty and requires periodic testing in line with BS 5266 or BS EN 50172 depending on jurisdiction. The constant current driver is non-dimmable. CRI is rated above 80, providing adequate colour rendering for general commercial tasks but below the 90+ threshold needed for retail display or design studio work.

Configuration is set during installation. Emergency output is 170lm for three hours.
