Description

The Knightsbridge 47mm double dry lining box is a white PVC enclosure for mounting 2-gang switches, sockets and accessories into plasterboard cavity walls. The 47mm recessed depth sits flush behind standard 12.5mm plasterboard, with red plastic lugs that grip the back of the board to hold the box in place without needing to fix into studs or noggins.

Designed for residential, commercial and hospitality installations where electrical accessories need to be retrofitted into dry-lined walls, the box accepts standard 2-gang faceplates and provides cable entry channels at both top and bottom edges. A 20mm knock-out at the rear allows conduit entry from behind the wall plane. The 133x73mm cut-out dimensions match the aperture required for most 2-gang accessories, and the box sits recessed so that the faceplate finishes flush with the plasterboard surface.

The white PVC construction is impact-resistant and certified to BS 5733, the British Standard for general purpose enclosures for electrical accessories. The red lugs compress when the box is pushed into the wall aperture, then spring out behind the board to lock the box in position. Once installed, the box supports the weight of the accessory and provides a stable fixing point for the faceplate screws. Knightsbridge supplies these boxes in shrink-sealed multipacks for site use.
