Description
The Knightsbridge M8332N is a 45A double pole switch with a neon indicator, housed in a powder-coated metal clad enclosure measuring 142x82mm. The switch controls both live and neutral lines, isolating circuits completely when in the off position, and includes a red neon window above the rocker that illuminates when the circuit is live.
Designed for controlling electric cookers, ovens, and other high-draw fixed appliances rated up to 45A (approximately 10,800W at 230V), the metal clad format suits commercial kitchens, domestic utility rooms, garages and workshops where surface-mounted wiring is preferred or where recessed installation is impractical. The complete assembly includes an integral back box with 45mm projection from the wall, eliminating the need for separate back box installation.
The premium grade steel construction is powder-coated in a metallic grey finish, providing resistance to minor impacts, moisture and chemical exposure common in utility and commercial environments. The screw terminals accept conductors up to 10mm², and an earth terminal is provided. The unit is certified to EN 60669-1 and carries a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What appliances can this switch control?
The 45A rating handles electric cookers, ovens, and other fixed appliances drawing up to approximately 10,800W at 230V. It is commonly used as an isolation switch for cooker circuits in compliance with UK wiring regulations.
Does it come with a back box?
Yes. The unit includes an integral metal back box as part of the assembly, with 45mm projection from the wall. No separate back box installation is required.
What does the neon indicator show?
The red neon window above the rocker illuminates when the circuit is live (switch in the ON position), providing visual confirmation that power is connected to the appliance. When the switch is OFF, the neon does not illuminate.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
The IP20 rating means it is not weatherproof. The metal clad housing suits garages, utility rooms and commercial kitchens, but should not be exposed to rain or direct water spray. For outdoor installations, an IP-rated outdoor enclosure is required.
