The Knightsbridge 45A DP switch is a double-pole cooker control designed to isolate high-draw cooking appliances for safe maintenance and servicing. The switch features a red neon indicator that glows when the circuit is live, and fits a 2-gang mounting box despite controlling only a single 45A circuit. The brushed chrome flat plate has a 2.5mm ultra-low projection from the wall and a built-in gasket for a tight seal against the mounting surface.

Installed between the consumer unit and the cooker or hob connection point, the switch provides safe isolation for cleaning, servicing or replacing cooking appliances. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when off, which is required by wiring regulations for fixed high-load appliances rated above 13A.
