Description

The Knightsbridge 45A DP cooker switch combines a double-pole 45A isolation switch with a 13A switched socket on a single matt black screwless faceplate with a black insert. Two neon indicators on the plate show when each circuit is live, allowing the cooker circuit and the socket to be monitored independently. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the cooker switch is off, preventing accidental activation during cleaning or maintenance.

Designed for kitchens where a dedicated cooker circuit needs to be controlled alongside a separate 13A outlet for small appliances, the unit fits a 47mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. The 45A rating handles electric cookers, ovens and hobs up to 10,350W on a 230V supply, while the 13A socket accommodates kettles, microwaves and other kitchen appliances up to 3,120W. The neon indicators provide visual confirmation that the circuits are isolated before maintenance work begins.

The premium-grade steel construction and matt black finish pair with modern and industrial kitchen schemes. The black insert behind the matt black faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and defines the edges of each switch and socket aperture. What's the purpose of the neon indicators?

The two neon indicators show when each circuit is live. One neon monitors the 45A cooker circuit, the other monitors the 13A socket. When the switch is off, the corresponding neon goes dark, confirming the circuit is isolated before maintenance work begins.

What back box depth is required?

A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds approximately 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the unit and re-clipped without re-wiring.
