Description

The Knightsbridge CU8333N combines a 45A double-pole cooker switch with a 13A switched socket on a single white curved-edge faceplate. Both the cooker switch and the socket feature red neon indicators that glow when the respective circuit is live, providing visible confirmation of power status before connecting appliances. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines on the cooker circuit when switched off.

Designed for kitchen installation where a cooker circuit and a standard socket outlet are needed in close proximity, this unit fits a standard dual-width back box with a minimum depth of 47mm. The 7mm contoured plate has gently rounded edges rather than sharp corners, reducing the visual bulk of the fitting against the wall. The white thermoset resin construction is laser-printed rather than pad-printed, giving cleaner text definition and longer-lasting markings that resist wear from repeated switching.

The anti-microbial properties built into the resin are third-party tested to ISO 22196:2011, making the unit suitable for healthcare, hospitality and domestic kitchen environments where hygiene is a priority. The faceplate includes screw cap covers to conceal the fixing screws once installed, and the unit is certified to BS 4177 for the cooker switch and BS 1363-2 for the socket outlet. Knightsbridge backs this unit with a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked

What does the neon indicator show?

Both the 45A cooker switch and the 13A socket have separate red neon indicators that glow when the respective circuit is live. This provides visible confirmation of power status before connecting an appliance, and helps identify whether a tripped breaker has affected the cooker circuit or the socket circuit independently.

What back box is required?

A dual-width (2-gang) back box with a minimum depth of 47mm is needed. The 7mm projection of the plate adds to the overall depth from the wall once installed.

What is the anti-microbial property?

The thermoset resin used for the faceplate contains anti-microbial agents tested to ISO 22196:2011, which inhibit bacterial growth on the surface. This makes the unit suitable for kitchens, healthcare settings and other hygiene-sensitive environments.

Can the screw caps be removed for redecorating?

Yes. The screw cap covers clip over the fixing screws and can be removed to access the screws if the plate needs to be taken off for painting or wallpapering around the fitting.
