Description

The Knightsbridge 45A DP cooker switch combines a double-pole isolation switch rated at 45A with a separate 13A switched socket and dual neon indicators, all behind a gunmetal faceplate with a black insert. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the cooker is switched off, providing safe isolation for maintenance, cleaning or repair work on the cooking appliance.

Designed for kitchen installation where a cooker or hob requires a local isolation point, the unit allows the main cooking appliance to be controlled via the 45A switch whilst the 13A socket provides a switched outlet for smaller kitchen appliances such as microwaves, slow cookers or food processors. The neon indicators show when each switch is energised, making it immediately clear whether the cooker circuit or the 13A socket is live.

The gunmetal finish is a dark metallic grey with a slight sheen, pairing well with contemporary, industrial and monochrome kitchen schemes. The black insert behind the gunmetal faceplate defines the switch apertures and socket outlet. The unit requires a 47mm minimum back box depth for safe installation and is constructed from premium-grade steel with a 25-year manufacturer's warranty.

Frequently Asked

What is the 45A switch used for?

The 45A double-pole switch is designed to isolate a cooker, hob or range rated up to 45A (approximately 10.35kW at 230V). It allows safe isolation for maintenance or cleaning without needing to switch off the entire kitchen circuit at the consumer unit.

What back box depth is required?

A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate adds approximately 2.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What do the neon indicators show?

Each neon indicator lights when its respective switch is energised. One neon corresponds to the 45A cooker switch, the other to the 13A socket, making it immediately visible which circuits are live.

Can the 13A socket be used independently?

Yes. The 13A socket has its own switch and can be used independently of the 45A cooker switch. It is suitable for standard kitchen appliances up to 3,120W.
