Description

The Knightsbridge 45A DP cooker control unit combines a double-pole 45A switch with a 13A switched socket and neon indicators on both the cooker switch and socket. The brushed chrome faceplate with black insert provides isolation control for electric cookers, hobs and ovens up to 10.35kW on a 230V circuit. The neon indicators show when each circuit is live.

Designed for kitchen installation within 2m of the cooker or hob, the unit allows the appliance to be isolated for cleaning, maintenance or emergencies without switching off the entire kitchen circuit at the consumer unit. The 13A socket provides a standard outlet for small appliances like kettles, toasters or microwaves. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when turned off, providing safer isolation than single-pole switching.

The premium-grade steel construction and brushed chrome finish pair with contemporary and industrial-style kitchens. The black insert behind the chrome faceplate hides the back of the plate and gives a defined edge to each switch and socket aperture. The unit requires a 47mm minimum back box depth and fits standard UK dual-gang mounting positions. The visible fixing screws at top and bottom corners are part of the standard design for cooker control units.

What does the neon indicator show?

Each neon indicator lights when its circuit is live. The cooker switch neon shows when power is available to the cooker circuit, and the socket neon shows when the 13A socket is switched on. This provides a visual confirmation of circuit status during maintenance.
