Description

The Knightsbridge 45A DP cooker switch combines a double-pole 45A isolator with a 13A switched socket and two neon indicators behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a grey insert. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when turned off, allowing safe maintenance or cleaning of connected cooking appliances without isolating the entire kitchen circuit.

Designed for installation adjacent to cookers, hobs and electric ovens, the 45A switch handles loads up to 10,350W, which covers most residential cooking appliances including ranges and dual-oven setups. The 13A socket provides a standard 230V outlet for small appliances such as kettles, toasters or microwaves positioned near the cooker. The neon indicators show when each circuit is live, providing visual confirmation of power status even when switches are positioned out of direct line of sight.

The screwless faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to a minimum 47mm back box, concealing all fixing screws once installed. The brushed chrome finish provides a contemporary metallic accent that pairs cleanly with stainless steel appliances and modern kitchen cabinetry, while the grey insert behind the plate defines the apertures for switches and socket. A minimum 47mm back box depth is required for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds approximately 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What do the neon indicators show?

Each neon indicator illuminates when its associated circuit is live. The 45A switch has one neon, and the 13A socket has a separate neon, providing visual confirmation of power status for both circuits independently.

Can this control multiple cooking appliances?

Yes. The 45A rating handles loads up to 10,350W at 230V, which is sufficient for most residential cooker and oven combinations. Verify the combined wattage of all connected appliances does not exceed this rating.

Is the screwless plate removable for decorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or tiling around the switch and re-clipped without re-wiring.
