Description

This Knightsbridge cooker control unit combines a 45A double-pole switch with a 13A switched socket on a single brushed chrome faceplate with a grey insert. The 45A switch isolates power to a cooker circuit rated up to 10,440W (at 230V), while the 13A socket provides a separate switched outlet for appliances up to 2,990W. Both switches feature neon indicators that glow when the circuit is live.

Designed for kitchen installation where a cooker or range requires a dedicated isolation switch within 2m of the appliance, this unit adds a 13A socket for ancillary kitchen equipment such as slow cookers, microwaves or extraction hoods. The double-pole switching on the 45A side isolates both live and neutral, allowing safe maintenance or cleaning of the cooker without needing to switch off the consumer unit. The 13A socket operates independently, so it can remain powered while the cooker circuit is isolated.

The premium-grade steel faceplate has a brushed chrome finish that resists fingerprints and pairs with both traditional and contemporary kitchen schemes. The grey insert behind the faceplate provides a neutral backing that defines the switch and socket apertures without introducing strong colour contrast. The unit requires a 47mm minimum back box depth for safe installation, which is deeper than standard single-gang switches to accommodate the higher-rated terminals and wiring.
